Create a building log and get a printed plan for free.

If you´d like to share your knowledge and produce a photo illustrated building log for others to follow and learn we´d like to give something back to get you started on your next build.

    Rules:
    1. Must be a wooden made model.
    2. The building log must be original (not copied from other websites).
    3. Must be a well done building log with photos of all the steps in the construction, comments, tips, suggestions.
    4. After finishing the build log you can pick a plan approximately the same size as the one you used in the building log.
    5. The plan will be printed on paper and will be shipped to you in a folded in a padded envelope.
This is just the initial idea so suggestions welcome.

This is an example of the type of building log I´d like to see:

i've been oogling the klingberg wing plans for some time and finally I decided to register to get them. then saw this forum was just created and then saw this post...its been several minutes of pure joy, thanks!

I have 2 build logs that I'd like to share but they are a dumas GeeBee and a guillows P-51...not new plans. so I wanted to clarify, you are looking for build logs of new designs and in return you provide aother plan from the collection here?

I simply love building, anybody got a new design they want built?

what a great place, thanks for being here!

      Hello Jim,

Welcome to the forum and to the plans site, I hope you find many interesting projects.

Yes, that´s the idea, for a new and original building log, not necessarily from a new model, in fact older models of any type are even better, just the build log has to be original and posted here for the first time, I will offer a plan from the plans site for free, the conditions are written in the first post.

Ideally you would post pictures and leave comments as you make the kit or build from scratch, that´s the idea.

Posting a copy paste build log from other site isn´t a good idea, only if you use the pictures but make a new text.

I'd like to ask a question as well. Does it matter if I get cutter to laser cut parts for my plans?

          Hello Nick,

No problem, you can leave the link to the service you used or is you did yourself you can provide the service or share the files so others can cut themselves if you like.

The only thing I´d like to see is a build log done over time with pictures and comments about the process.

I also have a question, does it matter if I use a foam core wing? The rest of the AC is balsa. Also, I have been building off of one of the plans uploaded here for a bit now. But, I have been logging it on RCgroups. Could I post everything here and still get a free plan? Thanks Fred.

              Hello CJ,

No problem but show us how you cut the foam core.

That rule it´s important, I need the building logs uploaded here to be exclusive or google will think I´m copying from other websites.

Make your building logs here and I will give you free plans according to the rules in the first post.

Did you noticed that the build log must be exclusive, not a copy from other forums?

Yes I did. No biggie, I'll still add commentary to all my pics. I'm still not finished my Boomerang yet anyways. Close, but not finished.

Hello AeroFred! My initial question: I'm in Navigation mode here, and just wondering if DXF capabilities are here ( to recieve) large files for exclusive laser files. tormentyalater! Johnny

                          Hi,

I´m not sure what you mean but we have many cad fles:
                          https://aerofred.com/categories.php?cat_id=5

You can then re arrange them to fit the wood planks you have and cut them on a laser cutter.

If you make these files good for laser cutting please share them back, many people asks me about laser cutting files, I´m sure they will be a success.
